RapidFor™ Troponin I Rapid Test

The RapidFor™ Troponin I Rapid Test is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in whole blood, serum or plasma. It is used as an aid in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The test is easy to perform, provides results within 10-15 minutes and is ideal for use in emergency departments, doctors’ surgeries and clinical laboratories.

Troponin I is a heart-specific protein and a highly sensitive marker for myocardial damage. It is detectable in the blood 4-6 hours after an infarction, reaches its peak within 12-24 hours and remains elevated for up to 14 days. This makes cTnI ideal for the diagnosis and monitoring of heart attacks.

Clinical performance data

The clinical performance of the RapidFor™ Troponin I rapid test was analysed by comparison with an established ELISA test procedure. A total of 598 patient samples were tested.

• Sensitivity: 98,68 %
• Specificity: 99,32 %
• Accuracy: 99,00 %

The minimum detection limit (LOD) of the test was determined to be 0.5 ng/mL. This allows the detection of even low concentrations of troponin I in the blood.

No cross-reactions were detected with:

• Skeletal muscle troponin I (10 μg/mL)
• Cardiac troponin T (2000 ng/mL)
• Cardiac myosin (20 μg/mL)
