RapidFor™ Syphilis Antibody Rapid Test
The RapidFor™ Syphilis Ab Rapid Test is a reliable, easy-to-use test for the qualitative detection of Treponema pallidum antibodies (including IgM, IgG and IgA) in whole blood, serum or plasma. It is intended for use by professionals only.
Syphilis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum and is mainly transmitted through direct sexual contact. The disease can also be transmitted to the next generation via the placenta, which can lead to stillbirths, premature births and syphilis in newborns. The incubation period of syphilis is 9 to 90 days, on average about 3 weeks. The incidence usually occurs 2 to 4 weeks after infection.
After an infection, both non-specific lipid antigen antibodies and specific antibodies against the syphilis antigen develop within 4 to 10 weeks. At the beginning of the infection, TP-IgM can be detected, which disappears again after successful treatment. TP-IgG can be detected later after the appearance of IgM and often remains in the body for a longer period of time.

All positive samples are collected from different CDCs and hospitals and compared with an enzyme immunoassay (EIA).
