The RapidFor™ Streptococcus pneumoniae Antigen Rapid Test is a rapid immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of Streptococcus pneumoniae antigens in urine samples. The test enables rapid diagnosis of a pneumococcal infection and supports early, targeted treatment.

Streptococcus pneumoniae is a gram-positive bacterium and the most common cause of serious respiratory diseases such as pneumonia, meningitis and septicaemia. Children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. The test recognises specific polysaccharide antigens of the bacterial cell wall, which can be detected in the urine just a few days after the onset of symptoms.

The RapidFor™ Streptococcus pneumoniae antigen rapid test is ideal for rapid initial diagnosis and can provide valuable support in emergencies or as a supplement to other diagnostic procedures.
