RapidFor™ Legionellen Antigen Test

The RapidFor™ Legionella Antigen Rapid Test is an immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detection of Legionella pneumophila antigens in urine samples. The test enables rapid diagnosis of Legionnaires’ disease, which allows early targeted therapy.

Legionella pneumophila is the most common pathogen causing Legionnaires’ disease – an acute, febrile respiratory illness that can range in severity from mild flu to fatal pneumonia. It is typically transmitted by inhaling contaminated aerosols, for example from air conditioning systems or showers.

The RapidFor™ Legionella pneumophila rapid test specifically detects antigens of Legionella pneumophila serogroup 1, which is responsible for over 70 % of all clinical cases. The test is ideal for initial diagnosis in clinical emergencies or as a supplement to laboratory medical procedures.
